Welcome to the fellowship of Interserve! Some people assume that work is a curse, while others look upon it as a calling. If we assume that work is a curse then our attitude to life is very negative. But when we look at our work as a calling, then we find our life fulfilled. Everybody is equally called – whether the person is an accountant, electrician, teacher, engineer, software professional, journalist, sportsman, banker, cine-artist, in business, preacher, missionary, pastor or a home-maker (house wife). The work a person is in – is the place where God has called the person to be. Bruce Larson says that “We must dispense with the myth that commitment to Christ means becoming a pastor, or that work done inside a Church building or in a church organization is more holy, somehow, than work done in the marketplace. Christ came to give us a sense of calling in everyday work. This is where the world is changed, and where the kingdom is built.” |
