 Welcome to the fellowship of Interserve! Some people assume that work is a curse, while others look upon it as a calling. If we assume that work is a curse then our attitude to life is very negative. But when we look at our work as a calling, then we find our life fulfilled. Everybody is equally called – whether the person is an accountant, electrician, teacher, engineer, software professional, journalist, sportsman, banker, cine-artist, in business, preacher, missionary, pastor or a home-maker (house wife).The work a person is in – is the place where God has called the person to be. Bruce Larson says that “We must dispense with the myth that commitment to Christ means becoming a pastor, or that work done inside a Church building or in a church organization is more holy, somehow, than work done in the marketplace. Christ came to give us a sense of calling in everyday work. This is where the world is changed, and where the kingdom is built.”

Reji Koshy Daniel works as the Asst. General Manager of a leading Private Sector company based in Pune. Along with that, he and his wife Betzy have been involved in ministering to university students as a couple since their marriage 12 years ago. Reji serves as the President of the Pune EGF (Evangelical Graduates Fellowship) and involved in discipling working professionals and students alike. Betzy serves in the Member Care Committee of Pune EGF, working towards strengthening fellowship and care within the UESI family in Pune. They are equally involved with another ministry bringing about wholistic development of slum dwellers in Pune.

Interserve ministry in India spans more than 150 years. The ministry has gone through several phases of transitions leaving behind a rich heritage for the future generations to emulate. The genesis of this great legacy was unveiled in thesignificant event on March 1, 1852 when, a London registered mission society pioneered by a few English women began its ministry in Calcutta. In 1987, the same movement has given birth to Interserve India, as autonomous affiliate agency in fellowship with Interserve International. Indian leaders like Dr. G. D. Devapaul, Dr. M. C. Matthew, Dr. K. N. Namboothiripad, Dr. L. N. Tluanga, Mr. Lalchuangliana, Mr. George Mani played pivotal role in this historic transition.
